One of the biggest realities that hits hard after design school is that most jobs are not that exciting. No jazz festival identities, no album covers or movie posters.

However, in 1998, I went to work for an Ad agency in San Francisco called DSW. One of my first projects was with the San Francisco Opera. They wanted something more modern for the tech community. Fresh out of grad school, I pitched the idea of branding “The Ring” series and creating an interactive web site and printed materials which included a new logo and a non conventional brochure that opened in a circle with layered pages reading front and back to elevate the storytelling.

Of course, you can’t see the website, but it was amazing. It had animation, music and interactive storytelling elements. And worked pretty well considering it was 1999 Internet. All made with Macromedia Flash! Hah, remember Flash. 😉
