Long Term Plan 2018-2028 Key Issues: Growth and Infrastructure
In the next ten years we’re expecting there will be nearly four and a half thousand more residents in Tasman. That means more homes, more businesses and more demands on our infrastructure and environment.
We have to manage this growth in a sustainable and timely manner – including the environmental impacts.
To do this, we’re proposing to invest $58 million over 10 years to provide new land and supporting infrastructure.
In addition, growth means we need specific support for improved and additional roads and footpaths, water, stormwater and wastewater capacity, as well as public amenities such as libraries, parks and community centres.
So as part of this long term plan we also propose to upgrade and improve existing assets with $157 million of investment over 10 years.
We do face significant challenges – natural hazards, changing communities, and increased demands for many services.
Help us future proof the district. We appreciate your feedback.
