Last year I made the transition from owning a car to riding a bicycle as my primary mode of transportation. I actually got rid of my car entirely since I was using it less and less, and I'm very active in the environmental community. Then on Dec 2nd, just when I was leaving from work, I went outside and found out that my 1970s Puch racing bike was stolen. I left it locked to the building where I work, and even that was not enough. The entire incident was caught on video, but the police have no leads--and I'm out of a bike.
How can someone do this? And right before the holidays, too. I guess people are desperate sometimes.
My good friend Brennan gave me that bicycle just before he moved to the Czech Republic, and I've had it for a long time. It was like a companion to me. Since it was worth around $1000 and was used, I'm only asking for help to raise $900. It really means a lot to me, and I truly appreciate your help in restoring my ability to ride by helping correct this injustice.


In addition to riding a bicycle, I am a very green person. I compost at home with worms and provide consultation for zero-waste at events and organizations. Presently, I work for a juice company, trying to get people to eat and drink healthy things. I look forward to getting back on the road soon. Thank you for your support.
