When a Solo Jazz Dancer joins in with the Band! Live @ The Ordinarie Long Beach, CA #shorts #dance

After three days up in the mountains with no service, it was truly beautiful to return home and play with one of my favorite groups, the Gareth Price Trio.

This group attempts to channel the playfulness and spontaneity heard in a 1946 session in Hollywood by Lester Young (sax), Nat King Cole (piano), and Buddy Rich (drums). The session was not planned, and actually resulted from a different recording job getting canceled because someone didn't show up. So these fellas just got together and created.

Hope you enjoy a little bit of us playing on Irving Berlin's "Russian Lullaby" (1927) and I must say, our music was fueled by the incredible solo dancing of Izy Robledo the whole night. Thanks, Izy and the entire SoCal dance community, and of course The Ordinarie for hosting us every Wednesday.
