A Fate Worse Than Death...

In 1937, 19 year old Angelo Hayes had a motorcycle accident and was flung head first into a brick wall, his facial injuries were so catastrophic that his family were advised not to identify his remains. Three days Angelo was buried in the village graveyard of St Quinten de Chalais in France. However his life insurance company became suspicious and demanded that Angelo’s body be exhumed. After the exhumation investigators were shocked to discover Angelo’s body was still warm; in fact he was still alive!
After extensive surgery Angelo went on to make a full recovery, and lived to the grand old age of 90. He even designed a coffin fitted with security to prevent anyone else being buried alive in the future.
