Kuwohi (formerly Clingmans Dome) is the highest point in Tennessee and the tallest mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains. Located in eastern Tennessee in Sevier County, in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Kuwohi straddles the border of Tennessee and North Carolina and at its summit is one of the more interesting observation platforms on a US state highpoint. Kuwohi has a rich history. It is a significant site for the Cherokee people and at one point was the centerpiece of a fierce rivalry on what was the highest point in the eastern United States.
