This story is part of 11Alive's "Drawing Conclusions" series as we follow two metro Atlanta parents concerned about critical race theory (CTR) and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs in public schools. Parents Bart and Coley Glasgow agreed to go on a fact-finding journey and interview experts in African American studies, DEI, implicit bias and America’s civil rights movement.

In Part 1 of the Glasgows' journey, they interviewed Dr. Carol Anderson, a professor at Emory University, about critical race theory and how it's taught in schools.
