How to source, store and preserve avocados

🥑 🥑🥑AVOCADOS🥑🥑🥑 Oh well 😅, by now, you all know we do not joke with these berries called avocados because... omega 3 fatty acids (lowering cholesterol and brain development for children) and a truck load of other essential nutrients!!! 😍. We put it on everything... well, expect swallow 😩!!! If you have growing children, please do not sleep on avocados 😢. We have it at least 3 times a week and limit it to half or quarter per person per day.

Reasons we love avocados 😍
- Contains over 20 essential nutrients and cancer fighting carotenoids.
- Improves absorption of alpha and beta carotene and lutein from other fruits and vegetables
- Immune boosting, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties.

Over 1500 varieties worldwide, Most common species in Nigeria are-
1. Buttery species (nutty, sweet flavour, silky creamy meat when ripe)- Reed, MacArthur, tonnage, Anaheim, Fuerte.
2. Fibrous species (small size, tiny ropes inside flesh)- Mexicola grande
3. Watery species (Mild flavour, slightly sweet, less fatty. Usually large with green smooth skin)- Choquette, Hall, Lulu.
4. Pebbly skin- (in-between buttery/watery, small, medium and sometimes long pear shaped. Turns dark when ripe)- Hass, Shepard, Gwen, Pinkerton.
