🌿 Face Shaving for Sensitive Skin - Safe and Smart Guide🌿

Face shaving for women with sensitive skin is possible while also protecting your skin barrier. Here's everything you need to know:

🌱 Why Shave Your Face?
- Hair Removal: Gets rid of peach fuzz and fine hairs allowing for a smoother base
- Exfoliation: Removes dead skin cells for a brighter complexion.
- Boosts glow and skincare absorption
🌱 Why Sensitive Skin needs extra care
- May be more prone to irritation or redness from dermaplanning

🌱 When to Avoid Shaving:
- Avoid if you've recently had chemical peels or laser treatments.
- If you have active, inflammatory cystic acne, as it could spread bacteria and worsen breakout.
- If you have conditions like eczema or rosacea, sun burn, skin rashes.

🌱 How to Do It Safely:
✨ Use a Dermaplaning single blade razor to reduce friction
✨ Cleanse face with fragrance-free cleanser.
(I use a Tea Tree Oil toner to help remove impurities and disinfect the skin)
✨ Apply a light oil to reduce friction.
✨ Hold skin taut and shave downwards. DON'T use pressure - use light strokes and let the razor do the work.
✨ Post shave soothing - Rinse with cool water, pat don't rub.
✨ Apply a restorative, fragrance-free moisturiser to soothe the skin.
✨ DON'T use actives such as Retinol, exfoliants such as AHA's and BHA's for at least 1 week (less for non-sensitive skin).
✨ As always - wear sunscreen in the day!

Face shaving can be safe and beneficial for sensitive skin when you prioritise prep, technique and aftercare. Listen to your skin - irritation is a sign to pull back.
