EXCLUSIVE UPDATE NEW in Costa Teguise’s NUA Shopping Center… Is It Finally Opening?

Costa Teguise is changing fast… and today Mr TravelON takes a closer look around the brand-new NUA Center in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, one of the most talked-about new shopping, dining and lifestyle developments in the resort.

The new NUA shopping centre is located in a prime frontline position close to Playa Las Cucharas, one of the most popular beaches in Costa Teguise. Work on the NUA project reportedly began back in late 2022, with the main construction now complete and finishing works still taking place. The centre is expected to bring new restaurants, bars, cafés and retail spaces to the area, adding another big upgrade to Costa Teguise’s tourist offering.

There has been plenty of speculation about the opening date, and although earlier reports suggested the centre could open sooner, it now looks more likely that the main NUA Center opening will be around June 2026, subject to final works, licences and individual businesses being ready. One restaurant on the front is already open, giving visitors a first taste of what this new area could bring to Costa Teguise.

In true Mr TravelON style, when the barriers came down, he took a leap of faith and walked in to see what is really going on inside. Is the new NUA Center nearly ready? What shops and restaurants are coming? Will this be a major boost for Costa Teguise? And could this new development help give the resort the facelift many visitors have been waiting for?

Costa Teguise is already one of Lanzarote’s main tourist resorts, known for its beaches, seafront walks, restaurants, family-friendly hotels and the famous Playa de las Cucharas, a popular beach area also linked with windsurfing and watersports. The arrival of the NUA Center could make this part of Costa Teguise even more attractive for holidaymakers looking for places to eat, drink, shop and enjoy the seafront.
