Augsburg is one of the oldest cities in Germany, located in Bavaria. Among its highlights are medieval guild houses, the 11th-century Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, and the onion-domed Basilica of Saints Aphra and Ulrich. The city hall with the Golden Hall is the main example of Renaissance architecture in the city. The Fuggerei quarter in the 16th century consisted of social housing and belonged to the famous dynasty of bankers - this is where our walk will begin.
