Dare to Stand Alone | Mosiah 11-17

Abinadi, a prophet in the Book of Mormon, was captured by the vain King Noah for prophesying that if the king and his people did not repent, God would destroy them all. After hearing of these prophecies, King Noah demanded Abinadi recall his words. When Abinadi refused, King Noah called for his death.

Abinadi stood courageous in his prophecies and in his trust in God. He continued to call people to repentance. He taught that “if ye keep the commandments of God ye shall be saved” (Mosiah 12:33).

While we may not all face threats of death like Abinadi, his example teaches us the importance of standing firm in our testimonies and our faith in God, even when we feel like we’re standing alone. When we stand in defense of our Savior and our God, like Abinadi, God will give us strength, for He will always be with us.

Have you ever felt like you were standing alone in defense of the Savior and His gospel?
