Giltner Nebraska Tornado 6/14/14

Storm that just after dark, barely skimmed over the town of Giltner to the east before producing a very pretty rope tornado for a duration of about a couple minutes. We had been running around on this same storm all day that visually had no signs of being tornadic. We had brought along a couple of friends from work for the ride and to see their first tornado. It was just getting dark and we were just about to call it quits, but then things quickly came together with the visual features of the storm that made us want to push on with it a little longer. It developed several lowering cloud bases and then at the exact moment we pulled over, it decided to produce. Needless to say, we were very excited for their first tornadic encounter after hours of running around on a storm that did not look promising at all.
