Homes of Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell targeted by vandals

The homes of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have been targeted by vandals.

The attacks came as apparent acts of protest after Congress failed to increase coronavirus stimulus cheques which are set to find their way to Americans doing it tough.

Police reported fake blood and a severed pig’s head were left at Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco, with a message also spray-painted across her garage.

Several phrases were graffitied on Ms Pelosi’s garage door including, “$2K,” “Cancel rent!” and “We want everything”.

Mr McConnell’s property in Kentucky was also targeted, with the message “Where’s my money” being spray-painted across his front door.

Another message of “Mitch kills poor” was also sprayed across the front façade of the house.

Mitch McConnell subsequently condemned the attack saying, “vandalism and the politics of fear have no place in our society".

“My wife and I have never been intimidated by this toxic playbook. We just hope our neighbors in Louisville aren’t too inconvenienced by this radical tantrum," he said.
