London Underground, DLR and c2c trains at West Ham & Limehouse

Today we are along the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway line and take a look at West Ham and Limehouse stations. The London terminus of the line is Fenchurch Street station, not far from the Tower of London and the famous Tower Bridge. Principal services on the line are operated by c2c, however, between its terminus and Limehouse the line runs parallel with the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) and between Bromley-by-Bow and Upminster the line runs parallel with the District and Hammersmith & City lines of the London Underground.

The film starts at West Ham, which is a major interchange station between c2c services and the London Underground and DLR (the latter not shown at this station). We see many Class 357 “Electrostar” trains next to London Underground S7 Stock trains. The posh-sounding announcements at the station are provided by Anne.

For the second half of the film we jump to the Docklands area, where at Limehouse station c2c trains can be observed next to the DLR. We first cast a glance at the beautiful Limehouse basin with the Canary Wharf estate in the background. The Docklands Light Railway runs here next to the basin on a brick viaduct. At Limehouse station the DLR joins the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway line, where we observe a few more Electrostars calling at the station.

Enjoy!
