What Truly Matters? Church Buildings vs Righteousness

What if we've been focusing on the wrong thing?

For generations, conversations about church have often centered around buildings, denominations, service styles, and traditions.

But Scripture points us back to something much simpler.

The most important thing about a church isn't the building. It's not whether you gather in a cathedral, a sanctuary, a storefront, a home, or under a tree. The most important thing is whether the people gathering are pursuing Jesus together.

Are they walking in righteousness?
Are they living lives of repentance?
Are they growing as disciples?
Are they loving one another well?

The Church was never meant to be defined by a location. The Church is the people of God, filled with the Spirit of God, living in obedience to the Son of God.

Buildings can be beautiful tools.
Traditions can be valuable.
But neither can replace a people who are surrendered to Jesus.

At the end of the day, God isn't looking for perfect buildings.
He's looking for willing hearts. "You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house..." — 1 Peter 2:5

May we never confuse where we gather with who we are called to be.

We are a people seeking transformation in our everyday lives and in the church. We are a people drawn into the harvest field by love. We are using our unique gifts, talents, and resources to influence the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to help equip Everyday Missionaries.
