Hi, I am Razor Uncle.

I am a Chinese man in my fifties, living and working in Thailand as the general manager of a pulse-processing food factory.

Thailand is a country that feels far more relaxed, welcoming, and gentle. The cultural contrast made me realize something I had never fully noticed before: for much of my life, I carried what we call in Chinese a "bitterness face" — a face shaped by stress, caution, and silent sorrow. To be honest, I didn't even enjoy looking at myself in the mirror. If I didn't like that face, why would anyone else?

One day, while shaving, I noticed something unexpected. As I watched my reflection, my facial expressions kept changing naturally and unconsciously. It made me realize something important:

It is never too late to change.

These shaving videos are part of my self-healing journey. Along the way, I hope to share a few mottos that may encourage, comfort, or awaken others as well.

Today is the 56th shave.

This time, I continued testing two dual-blade disposable razors:

So far, both razors are still performing surprisingly well, with no razor bumps or irritation.

After more than fifty shaves, I have learned two simple secrets for a comfortable shave:

First, take a hot shower beforehand to soften and fully hydrate the beard.

Second, never press the razor head too hard against the skin. As the blade becomes less sharp, excessive pressure makes cuts much more likely. Hold the razor lightly and let it glide gently over the skin.

What surprises me most is that both razors remain comfortable even after dropping to around one cent per shave. I honestly don't know how many people have ever pushed a disposable razor this far.

Another interesting part of this experiment is the ASMR effect during shaving. The soft scraping sound of the razor cutting through the beard is oddly relaxing and satisfying.

As a Chinese person, I have always been fascinated by durability, frugality, and pushing everyday products to their practical limits. Perhaps this mindset was shaped by generations who lived through scarcity and learned to make things last.

This razor test is a small reflection of that philosophy.

I will continue the experiment until these razors are no longer comfortable or effective to use.
