Lifeguards Rescue Lauderdale Swimmer in Hurricane Laura Surf
It took five lifeguards to rescue this swimmer, out after-hours in the surf kicked up by Hurricane Laura. They blew the whistle over and over, and finally went out to get this person. The undertow was so strong, even the lifeguards needed the surfboard to get in.
The everyday heroism and selflessness of the lifeguard team of Fort Lauderdale Ocean Rescue is amazing.
This was on the beach in Fort Lauderdale at Sunrise Boulevard at about 7pm on Monday, August 23, 2020.
