James Taylor performs "Wichita Lineman" at Country Music: In Performance at the White House

As part of their "In Performance at the White House" series, the President and First Lady invited country music legends and contemporary major artists to the White House for a celebration of country music. The program includes performances by Lauren Alaina, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Mickey, Darius Rucker and James Taylor.

James Vernon Taylor is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Taylor was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He also received the National Medal of Arts from President Obama in a White House ceremony.

"In Performance at the White House" is a series of events created to showcase the music that's contributed to the fabric of American culture and chronicled the history of its people, performed in the setting of the nation's most famous home.
