Does sparing lumbar segments benefit patients' mobility in the long run? | Scoliosis Research

The purpose of this study was to prospectively evaluate the effects of sparing lumbar motion segments on spinal mobility and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) at 10 years after spinal fusion for major thoracic AIS. We hypothesized that sparing lumbar motion segments could retain spinal mobility, which would result in better HRQOL.

This study was conducted by the Harms Study Group.
