All the beehives Went Underwater

Hurricane Helene left a path of devastation across St. Petersburg, Florida, flooding homes, uprooting trees, and wiping out entire honeybee colonies. In the aftermath, I received a call from Leasa—her home had flooded, but she was determined to save the bees that had taken shelter there.

Navigating the challenges of rescuing a submerged hive, searching for the queen, and relocating the colony to safety, I witnessed firsthand the destruction left behind by the storm. Every neighborhood has its own unique honey, and every rescue has its own story. This one is about resilience—of both people and pollinators.
