Virgin Orbit / VOX Space wins US Space Force Contract | Undercutting SpaceX and Blue Origin?

Virgin Galactic has been the very epitome of a money pit space program, in spite of the fact it is run by one of the most successful businessmen in the world in Richard Branson, and not a government agency. This just provides more proof that manned space vehicle development is a lot harder than unmanned rocketry. However, the US Space Force has no immediate need for manned space missions. Instead it has a very great need for satellite delivery and a very paltry budget. This is a problem because their preferred contractor ULA is very expensive. But it seems that Virgin’s promise of launching satellites at a per launch cost of less than $15 million is more than tempting to the newest branch of the US military and the Air Force Space Command.
