This Sunday I indulge my love of porcelain and delve into the world of Spode! I show you pieces from our collection at the Chateau de Lalande and talk about the fascinating history of this quintessentially British brand.
I’m so happy that, when I first bought Lalande 15 years ago, I went crazy in the Spode factory shop and bought enough plates to serve 30 people when there were only 4 of us living there 😂
I believed that one day the chateau would be filled with people and laughter, and that dream’s come true! (Which, incidentally, means that the chateau is also filled with a lot of broken or cracked plates, but that’s a price I’m happy to pay - and it gives me a great excuse to add to my collection! 😉)

A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. I only launched our Patreon page 10 days ago and we already have over 100 patrons! I’ve been overwhelmed by your response, and am planning lots of renovations to the chateau that I’ve been longing to do for years! It’s such an exciting time for all of us here, as work is about to begin on the chapel and the dream of getting our lake back looks as though it could become a reality because of your help.
