Learning to play bar chords on your guitar is really tough in the beginning.

Compared to open chords like G or D, bar chords can seem infinitely more difficult to master.

However, being able to play bar chords is essential for playing many well-known songs on the guitar.

There is one particular problem that everyone struggles with when learning to play these kinds of chords.

If you're like most people, then you've probably struggled to get every note to ring-out clearly while barring across multiple strings.

You can identify this problem by listening for the "thunk" sound of muted strings which aren't being fully depressed against the frets.

In this video lesson, learn a simple movement that allows you to consistently press down all of the strings with bar chords.

You'll also learn two variations of this movement which will allow you to play barre chords using different numbers of strings.
