Solving for issues that persist across generations can be daunting and seemingly impossible. But James Manyika, director at McKinsey & Company, offers a multi-faceted yet doable strategy that focuses on gender parity at work.

Not only is the world far from gender parity, but the gap isn’t closing anytime soon. Manyika says there’s an opportunity to achieve gender parity around the world at a faster rate using “neighborhood lessons.” According to Manyika, if countries that are making progress can get neighboring countries to make just as much progress through replicable best practices, it would be worth $12 trillion.
