Training a wild mustang horse ~ groundwork in the first 30 days

Today marks 30 days with our wild BLM Mustang named Justice. What a journey this wild mustang has taken us on this month. He's by far the most difficult mustangs I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. He’s super sensitive and takes a great deal of patience just to earn a tiny fraction of trust. In 30 days I’ve been able to get him to stand, accept brushing, grooming, and petting (he doesn’t like to be tapped so I learned to stroke him firmly) he seems to like this firming stroking over tapping. Applying the halter is an area he is working towards accepting. He’s doing better with the blanket and I just placed the saddle on him twice so far. I’m looking forward to our 2nd month in training starting tomorrow!
