Worlds Largest Opal Auctioned!

The numismatic auction saw some committed bidding and was complimented by a number of phone bidders. The world record holding opal "The Pacific" was "referred" to an underbidder for a massive $405,000 Australian dollars! An amazing result for a gemstone of such notoriety and international interest.

The auction was well attended with an excellent presentation and digital online link up available for virtual buyers. The auction was an exciting event with a number of competing bids and this incredible gemstone now under negotiation for a sum under the reserver of $420,000.

This represents areal bargain for the purchaser who may end up achieving a purchase far below the true worth, selling for approximately $1,000 per carat for a gem worth many times that!!
