How To: Best Way To Mount GoPro Hero Camera To MTB Full Face Helmet

This short, easy-to-follow video shows the best practices for securely chin-mounting the camera base for a GoPro camera to the chin of a full face MTB helmet. The base shown will work on GoPro's latest GoPro Hero9, but is the same base for the last 5 or more GoPro Hero model cameras, including the Hero8 and Hero7. This mounting method has the cleanest appearance, using no zip ties! This method also allows the camera to be angled precisely for how you ride. Aggressive downhill typically has the camera "looking up," while flat trail riding will have the camera looking more "down." A pack of three GoPro Hero bases can be purchased on-line for only $6.99. This gives you three chances to perfect the base, or use the other bases for different mount locations, on anything. A 3-pack (3 x 5g) of Sugru moldable glue can be purchased for $9.99 and is available in different colors.
Starting with the Hero7 Black, video stabilization has been quite good. However, chest-mounted, with no gimbal, will show more movement (jitter & loss of sharpness) than chin-mounted. The human head is a great gimbal, so use it! It's also nice to get the confining straps & GoPro off your chest.
