Reverse Engineering in Solid Edge 2020 - PROLIM
This webinar will cover an in-depth look at Solid Edge 2020 Reverse Engineering functionality, presented by Aaron Creech. We will be exploring tools and commands located on the Reverse Engineering tab (included in both Solid Edge classic and premium suites) to transform mesh bodies into Boolean (B-Rep) design bodies. The imported mesh data must be in the Stereo Lithographic (STL) file format, which is native to the most popular types of 3D modeling and scanning systems. The commands on the Reverse Engineering tab are enabled when there is at least one mesh body (solid or construction) in the active document.
The following workflow will be reviewed and demonstrated:
- Import/ Open files containing mesh bodies
- Set mesh viewing options
- Align a mesh body to a coordinate system
- Clean up the mesh
- Identify geometric regions
- Extract surfaces
- Trim & stich construction surfaces to form construction bodies
