蔣雅郁曾親身前往車諾比事件的核災現場，才發現事情的真相和她以前從媒體讀到的有多麼不一樣，完全顛覆了她的世界觀和價值觀。即使是「眼見為憑」，所見也不一定全都能相信。而原本以為的「事實」，可能只是片面解讀而成的「故事」，任何的議題都需要從各個不同的角度去進行考慮。

Ya Yu Chiang had personally traveled to the scene of the Chernobyl incident, only to find the local residents, their lifestyles, and their views vastly different from what she had read from the media. In her talk, she shares how her Chernobyl trip has changed her perception of the statement "seeing is believing". What might be perceived as facts or truth may merely be a one-sided interpretation of a story.

蔣雅郁因為對烏克蘭境內的車諾比現況好奇，在得知車諾比開放觀光客後，邀集七名同在歐洲留學或工作的台灣年輕人，於2015年5月、9月兩次自費前往車諾比管制區及周邊地區，親眼見證那邊的自然生態與居民生活。他們期待這些經驗與衝擊，能帶給台灣這片土地更多不同的視野，希望能夠在台灣社會中激盪出更多討論的火花。

Ya Yu Chiang was studying in London when she learned of the exclusion zone tours to Chernobyl, Ukraine. In May and September 2015, she made two trips to Chernobyl with 7 other fellow Taiwanese companions, all of whom were residing in Europe. What Ya Yu saw and recorded on these guided trips to the power plant and surrounding villages were valuable insights that she hopes to share with Taiwan locals.
