The Monster with 21 Faces

The Monster with 21 Faces
An unknown gang known as ‘The Monster With 21 Faces’ terrorized Japanese candy companies Ezaki Glico and Morinaga from March 1984 to August 1985. Employing aliases inspired by Edogawa Rampo's fictional villain, the ‘Monster’ orchestrated a series of crimes, including the kidnapping of Glico's president, Katsuhisa Ezaki. Security footage emerged of ‘The Videotaped Man’ believed to be the ringleader, putting allegedly poisoned Glico candy on store shelves in 1984. Letters, laden with defiance, were sent to police and the media, challenging authorities to apprehend them. Despite a relentless pursuit and a final ominous message, the ‘Monster with 21 Faces’ vanished, leaving a trail of unsolved mysteries and chilling uncertainties. No one has ever been apprehended.
