"DIVE FOOTAGE FOCUSED MAINLY ON D-DECK FIRST CLASS RECEPTION AREA".
Description:
Dive footage focused mainly on D-Deck First Class Reception area.
21:53:47 START (A) On collapsed roof just to starboard of stairwell.
21:55:47 (AP) Swing out over stairwell.
21:56:38 (A) Looking down, descending into well.
21:58:38 (S) Best view (?) of intact stair steps leading from D Deck down to half handing (stbd.).
22:01:21 (S) Good view (brief) of Reception Room ceiling (deteriorated).
22:02:32 (FS) Column with collapsed capital (seen in '95), fiber optic lines strung about it.
22:03:07 (S) Approaching bronze-grilled door at low angle (no snow!).
22:03:31 (F) Approaching fallen bronze grill (no snow).
22:04:27:28 (F) Intact light bulb (!) on ceiling of inboard section of starboard entrance vestibule, just inboard of wide fore-aft box beam and centered between athwartships beams (to right of long rusticle at center of frame). Again @ 22:05:39:17, but more briefly seen.
22:05:41:11 (F) Decent pan across ceiling of inner vestibule ending with brief glimpse of forward end of the arched passage to elevators.
22:05:53 (F) Good view of coat/hat hooks in midground.
22:06:28 (F) Great wide, overall view of paneling on forward wall of vestibule under box beam, then pan outboard along paneling.
22:08:05 (S) Forward entrance gates in dim distance.
22:08:17 (A) Ceiling detail in vestibule, including two ceramic light fixtures. Finally solves riddle of what lights looked like in here!
22:08:32 (S) Come upon Elwood.
22:09:20 (A) Better view of ceramic ceiling fixtures in vestibule. Get even closer @ 09:29.
22:11:07 (FP) Big, wide ceiling fore-aft box beam at left, separating larger outboard section of entrance vestibule from inboard, smaller area.
22:58:28 (S) Resting on stbd. side of collapsed roof next to stairwell.
23:07:42 (A) Collapsed entrance roof, port side.
23:11:12 (A) Nice look at aft side of well.
23:12:00 (A) Cleared to descend again, Jake slowly goes down into stairwell. Look into A Deck (not closely), brightly lit by Mirs.
23:13:57 (S) On D Deck, repeat move of first descent: Move to stbd. past dangling octagonal light fixture, past "'95 column," and toward bronze-grilled door (no snow).

D-Deck Information
The D Deck, or Saloon, was where First-Class passengers initially entered the ship upon ascending its gangplank. This deck showed a greater diversity of class-organized cabin assignments than the upper decks, though the Second- and Third-Class areas continued to be fully separated from First-Class areas. Amidships in the D Deck, literally at the center of the boat, was dominated by the expansive First-Class Dining Saloon and Reception Area. Adjoining this to aft were the First- and Second-Class pantries and galleys, with the Second-Class dining saloon directly aft from these, followed by Second-Class Cabins and then Third-Class areas at the far astern end of the ship. Over fore to the bow side were some large First-Class Staterooms, followed by open space areas for Third-Class passengers, then the Firemen's Quarters at the far Bow terminus.
