How and why to make a simple underpainting. By Ben Lustenhouwer

Portrait painting is not easy in the beginning. A good underpainting helps you to better hold the shape and the resemblance. You can make this in acrylic paint. It is immediately dry and you can get started right away. An underpainting in oil paint is also a possibility. However, that must be dry if you want to really benefit from it. Both have their own advantages.
In a following video I explain how to make an underpainting in oil paint and whereupon you should pay attention to.

It is my intention to publish more of everything I know about portrait painting .
And I want this information to be free for everyone. That is why I ask your collaboration with the subtitle captions. The English and Dutch language is ok. Other translations can be improved.

and help me to improve a chosen language.

Thank you so much!

Until now I received the most nice and grateful reactions from all over the world.
And that gives me a lot of satisfaction.
