Water cooled Goped water pump upgrades!

So in this video, we do away with the wind shield washer pump. It has failed for this project in several ways. The pump is temperamental for the voltage it will operate with. That being said I can’t slow the pump down and it be reliable. When operating it on 9 volts, the pump would shut down and not want to re start. 12 volts was causing the coolant to foam, and foam doesn’t transfer heat as efficiently as fluid does. The new pump is a brushless dc motor. Designed for 12 volts dc solar. And it is more consistent under lower voltages. Back to running 9 volts, seems to be the correct speed of coolant flow. Also the pump continues to operate on 9 volts and re starts as normal.
I discovered an air leak with the pulse pump, the air leak has been the main cause of getting this engine to run normally. I’m al lucky that I haven’t locked this engine up. However that air leak didn’t only effect the engines performance, I am willing to bet it lowered the performance of the pump. Making that pump perform as low as it did in the earlier video. Maybe I need to make my own manifold for the pulse pump and give that a revisit. I would prefer this build have the least amount of electronics as possible, the less electronics the less I have to worry about batteries.
The new carb is the original carb for this engine. It is a single fuel line setup designed for an RC boat application. I am running it a little rich on the bench. Once I can ride this GoPed I will give it a proper tune. My bead lock is on its way with some new tires. I am overly excited to ride and tune this thing!!
