A Guide To Programming The Brother KH-965 Electroknit

I bought this video tape on eBay a week or so back, I wanted it for helping me when I get a KH-965 but I figured I would put the video up for you to see as it may be of help to you too. This instructional video is from around the late 1980s or early 1990s, so of course this was taken from VHS, so it won't be HD, lol... Still helpful though all the same, I'm sure.

I transferred this video from VHS to an MP4 file myself, so although I don't own this video, it is my copy. I have uploaded purely on the basis of that Brother no longer manufacture knitting machines and this video is no longer in distribution, as far as I know.

NOTE: because of the way I have transferred this tape - from VHS to DVD and then screen recorded on my laptop to turn it into an MP4 file... There may be some slight occasional lag in the video every now and again in this YouTube copy, because my computer is a bit on the slow side, despite this, there isn't any sync issues and these issues are only present in this YouTube copy and not the original tape or transferred DVD.

This video refers to and was made for the Brother KH-965 but it also applies to the Brother KH-965i, the machines are the same, just the KH-965i had an additional port which allows a cable to connect to it, for use with the Brother floppy drive at the time (or computer in todays day and age, for use with Design A Knit), since the KH-965 came before the KH-965i, this video doesn’t talk about that additional feature as the KH-965 didn’t have it.

One slight variation if you have the KH-965i, when the video talks about taking the carriage off the bed and using a transfer tool to adjust the end needle selection cams, to turn off end needle selection... On your KH-965i carriage, simply set it to KC2, this has the same effect.
