“Speaking Volumes" Arkansas PBS Sports Feature-Mid-America Emmy® Nominee & Public Media Award Winner
Inspired by her time with EAST Initiative, tenth-grader Lexi Jarrett has been building up sports broadcasting for years at Cross County High School, near Wynne, Arkansas.
Hear how she’s pursuing a course in media, serving as the Thunderbirds’ first female commentator and leading a team of students to livestream football games, produce podcasts and more — all while showing resilience through personal trials with Tourette Syndrome — in this AR PBS Sports feature.
“Speaking Volumes" is a 2022 nominee of the 46th Annual Mid-America Emmy® Award in the category of Human Interest – Short Form Content.
Arkansas PBS has won the Public Media Award for Short Form from the National Education Telecommunications Association (NETA) in the 54th annual competition. The Public Media Awards honor NETA members’ finest work in content, community engagement, marketing/communications and education.
