China is a nation whose central strategic interests are ‘inimical’ to Australia’s

The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says China is a nation whose central strategic interests are “inimical” to Australia’s.

Mr Sheridan’s comments follow Australian citizen Yang Hengjun receiving a suspended death sentence.

“The Albanese government generally now won’t speak in a disobliging way about China,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“Because it thinks that having reset the relationship with China is its only single remaining foreign policy achievement.

“But as a result, a lot of Australians, including a lot of business folks of course think that everything’s hunky-dory in China and that we should just go back to having a normal relationship.”
