Joseph in the Book of Jubilees (Ethiopian Bible)

The Story of Joseph of Egypt (Sephantiphans) as told in the apocryphal Book of Jubilees (part of the Bible in the Ethiopian and Eritrean Churches of Africa), known also as "the Little Genesis". CHAPTER 39 - 00:02 - Joseph receives Jacob. The Land of Egypt is acquired for Pharaoh. Jacob's Death and Burial.
CHAPTER 40 - 03:39 - The Death of Joseph. The Bones of Jacob's Sons (except Joseph) interred at Hebron. The Oppression of Israel by Egypt.
CHAPTER 41 - Unrelated. I excluded.
CHAPTER 42 - 06:39 - Owing to the famine Jacob sends his sons to Egypt for corn. Joseph recognizes them and retains Simeon, and requires them to bring Benjamin when they returned. Notwithstanding Jacob's reluctance his sons take Benjamin with them on their second journey and are entertained by Joseph.
CHAPTER 43 - 11:36 - Joseph's plan to stay his brethren. Judah's supplication. Joseph makes himself known to his brethren and sends them back for his father.
CHAPTER 44 - 16:35 - Jacob celebrates the feast of firstfruits, and encouraged by a vision goes down to Egypt. Names of his descendants.
CHAPTER 45 - 22:01 - Joseph receives Jacob, and gives him Goshen. Joseph acquires all the land and its inhabitants for Pharaoh. Jacob dies and is buried in Hebron. His books given to Levi.
CHAPTER 46 - 25:51 - Prosperity of Israel in Egypt. Death of Joseph. War between Egypt and Canaan during which the bones of all the sons of Jacob except Joseph are buried at Hebron. Egypt oppresses Israel.

* 00:28 - On Prosperity, as a Blessing of God effecting also the people around the blessed person!

* 01:00 (Jubilees 39;6) - On the Sin of Fornication (Adultery). Grievious spiritual repercussions.

* 05:55 (Jubilees 40;10) - "And the king called Joseph's name SEPHANTIPHANS, and gave Joseph to wife the daughter of Potiphar, the daughter of the priest of Heliopolis, the chief cook." Sephantiphan, enigmatic Egyptian name of Joseph (If you type this name in google, it automatically takes you to the page of this mysterious pharaoh, the son of Canaanite woman and of uncertain father - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siptah The ending could have been -Siptah, Sephansiptah (Setepenre-Siptah). * 06:06 (Jubilees 40;11) "And on the day that Joseph stood before Pharaoh he was thirty years old [when he stood before Pharaoh]." Joseph started to rule over Egypt when he turned 30. 30 was the age of Jesus Christ when He started His mission on Earth. Also, Hebrew Priests officially entered service at age 30 (Numbers 4:3), Saul became King when he was 30 years old (1 Samuel 13:1). David became King when he was 30 years old (2 Samuel 5:4) and Ezekiel was called by God as a prophet at age 30 (Ezekiel 1:1). 30 is the age of spiritual fulfillment.

* 03:41 Jubilees (40;1-3) "And in those days Pharaoh dreamed two dreams in one night concerning a famine which was to be in all the land, and he awoke from his sleep and called all the interpreters of dreams that were in Egypt, and magicians, and told them his two dreams, and they were not able to declare (them)." And then the chief butler remembered Joseph and spake of him to the king, and he brought him forth from the prison, and he to]d his two dreams before him. And he said before Pharaoh that his two dreams were one, and he said unto him: 'Seven years shall come (in which there shall be) plenty over all the land of Egypt, and after that seven years of famine, such a famine as has not been in all the land.

This passage points to the existence of seven year cycles in the lives of humans and the societies. Through the mysterious workings of Divine Providence, every seven years, there are some cardinal changes taking place in the cosmos that influence the energies in our lives in major ways. [The number] seven marks as a catalyst for people's lives, whether that's on a collective scale or personal scale. Also, this passage testifies that dreams can have a prophetic nature (rarely though) if interpreted in the right way.
