in all seriousness though, there seems to be a large bit of pushback in the past year or so against diverse books of any genre and age range, mainly due to claims of 'unrelatability' (which I really want to make a whole video essay on the usage of relatable in books tbh) being 'too woke,' or being 'inappropriate' (i REALLY want to make a video on this as well)

as conservativism and anti-intellectualism and bigotry and book banning rises more into the mainstream once more (especially with the fascist in chief up in the oval office helping encourage it), it is more important than ever to write and read and protect books with authors and characters of all different backgrounds and lived experiences.

they are trying to push people they deem abnormal (so anyone non white, cis, straight, and christian) into being hated and erased. do not allow it.
