How To Crochet a Purse (Shoulder Bag)

here's the FREE pattern to this 90s inspired crochet shoulder bag!
Materials:

wak fabric yarn: https://www.weareknitters.com/fabric-yarn-kit
acrylic purse chain amazon affiliate link: https://amzn.to/35cwQqm
tuck clasp affiliate link: https://amzn.to/3khyQlc

size K crochet hook (6.5mm)
chunky weight yarn or yarns held together to achieve chunky weight (3 strands DK/worsted or 4 strands sport)
made in 3 pieces.

slip knot and chain 24 sts + 2 turning sts.
R1: work into top loop of 3rd chain and DC. DC once in each top loop of chain.
R2: Yarn over and working behind the piece, poke through first gap between posts, yarn over, pull back through to where you started, DC as normal. yarn over, push hook through gap between first post and second and around the post back to the front, yarn over, pull back to where started, DC as normal. work 1 more time for a total of 3 sts. Yarn over, working behind the piece, push hook through gap in posts and around front out the back, yarn over, pull back to where started, DC as normal. Rep 2 more times.

Repeat this sequence down the row 3 more times. Begin next row with opposite stitch of what you ended with. Work this way for 7 rows. Cut yarn.

Begin this again and work for 15 rows for two identical pieces, expect one is longer than the other. Cut yarn.

Trim piece: Slip knot and chain 48st +2 turning sts. DC all sts in top loop of chain (1 row). Cut yarn.

Sew or single crochet together trim piece to smaller rectangular basket-stitch piece perpendicularly. Sew or sc together larger piece to trim piece with longer flap at the same end as open end.
