While thirty souls and their animals sleep around us, we wander the quiet hall, the high seat, the weaving loom, the cradle and the carved old gods, then out under the northern lights to the standing stones and the burial mounds, and back to the banked embers as a slow winter dawn comes up rose over the white mountains.
