Author/Rock Historian Susan Masino Remembers Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen News Desk Exclusive)
Author/rock 'n' roll historian Susan Masino shared her memories of Eddie Van Halen in an exclusive interview with the Van Halen News Desk.
"When I heard the first couple of seconds on that turntable it was like putting on a pair or rose colored glasses," said Masino, who was working for the Emerald City Chronicle in Madison, Wisconsin in early 1978 when her editor-in-chief played a copy of a red five-song vinyl promo sampler of Van Halen's debut album. "The world wasn't the same tint anymore."
Soon after, Masino had the opportunity to attend Van Halen's third and fourth shows during their first world tour. She also got to hang out and party with the band during their infamous stay at Madison's Sheraton Inn.
The Van Halen News Desk's Eric Senich caught up with Masino this week to get her thoughts on the passing of Eddie Van Halen and how she believes she received a visit from Eddie's spirit just a few days before he passed.
