When 30-year-old bartender Russell Donnelly discovered he was Covid positive, after getting over the initial shock, he decided to put his taste buds to the test.
From combining toothpaste and orange juice, Oreos with wasabi, to chomping on two-day old raw onions and lemons, to slurping down some balsamic vinegar in his home in Jersey City, the potent foods had no impact on tasteless Russell.
Russell said: "I have no idea how I caught it, I’m very safe.
"I was a little spooked when I realised I couldn’t taste because I knew what it was.
