Hi everyone, today we'll talk about using a mother hue in your work!
This basically means using 1-2 paints that repeat themselves all throughout the painting, and keeping it very simple in the first layer.

🎨 HOW I LEARNED THIS 🎨

I got this idea directly from Alvaro Castagnet. He talks about this in his tutorials and DVDs.

The way he pulls the painting together, initially, is by limiting the number of colors he uses for the first wash.

I experimented with this approach successfully, and so I wanted to share it with you.

🎨 FRAGMENTED WORK 🎨

This is a big issue I used to have. My paintings felt very fragmented and not unified.

Starting to minimize the number of paints solved that problem for me, and also let to a more atmospheric and moody result - which I LOVE.

🎨 CONCLUSION 🎨

I hope you enjoyed this video and learned something new. Your feedback is really appreciated and I'm trying to take it and use it to improve as much as possible.

And so - I would love to hear what you think of this kind of videos.

Take care, have a merry Christmas if you celebrate, and we'll talk again really soon!

- Liron
