How To Build An Amazing Guitar With Scrap Wood

Matt found a nice big piece of poplar in an office building, unfortunately it was rendered almost useless for guitar building. It was about 1/4 inch thinner than it needed to be and someone had covered it with latex paint and drilled a bunch of holes in it too!
How could this be turned into a neat guitar… is it even worth it to try?
