Spanish Mackerel Fishing: Trolling Spoons

On our way back in from bottom fishing we decided to stop at the mouth of the inlet and troll for Spanish Mackerel. Spanish Mackerel migrate up Florida in the Spring just ahead of the King Mackerel. They can be found around bait pods along the beach at around inlets. We started trolling spoons with light spinning rods and some small conventional reels where the river water meets the ocean and started catching fish!
