Our 2011 mark 7 VW Passat is a highly desirable family car with all the comfort you expect from this sector, combined with low running costs thanks to its economical turbo-diesel engine and BlueMotion technology. These MK7 (2011-) Passats now represent fantastic value for money and come laden with a superb specification that made them a class leader. Our Passat is a luxurious cruiser, a sports saloon and a practical family car all rolled into one, high quality package which is imitated by many but never equalled. Few cars offer a blend of performance, economy and style more convincingly than this 2 litre TDI which features VW Bluemotion technology to maximise economy and lower emissions. Powered by the sought after 2 litre / 138 bhp turbo-diesel engine our Pasat combines superb performance with the well appointed interior of a business saloon. It also achieves a highly impressive 61 mpg combined fuel economy and costs just £35 a year to tax.

It is finished in a deep metallic blue which looks stunning and it is fitted with several costly options to give it a truly enviable spec. The sports seats are trimmed in full leather and are heated up front, with electriuc adjustment for the backrest and height also a feature. The car also has OPS (optical parking system, Which gives an acoustic and visual aid when trying to maneuver in a tight spot. Then there is a system called VW park assist. This is a system which enables the Passat to effectively parallel park itself using sensors which find a space large enough and then steer the car into place for you. It is a fool-proof system which, despite feeling a little strange the 1st time you use it, is a joy to use.

The car has 129k miles and a full service history which I will list below. As you would expect with a VW, the car performs like new and feels solid and tight. The 2.0TDI is one of the strongest and most capable engines I know of and I have driven Passats with the same drivetrain that have covered over 300k miles. Out on the road, this car performs and handles like a regular saloon but when you need space you will be pleased to know the Passats colossal boot holds 603 litres of luggage, making it one of the largest in its class.

When you are inside this car you can't help but feel totally relaxed. The seats are generously proportioned and even heated up front for extra comfort. The dashboard is dominated by a large colour touchscreen which houses controls for the cars audio system (which is I-pod and MP3 compatible), satellite navigation and bluetooth telephone system. When parking the same screen displays a visual aid to your surroundings so whilst the Passat is a fairly generously proprtioned car , it is very easy to drive. It is also as cheap to run as most superminis and does a fantastic job of combining that superb economy with excellent performance and road manners. With the cruise control set to 70 there are few places I would rather be than sat behind the wheel of this superb car.
