Will it start? Rusty old 1970's Petter Generator left standing for years, cold start Diesel

About three years ago a local farmer that I know told me that he was going to scrap an old diesel generator that had been sitting for years in his yard. His dad used to use it for sheep-shearing in the 1980's, and he got it second hand from an auction. I made him an offer and took it home.

It's sat at the back of my house for more than three years with just a cover over it. This video is my attempt to get it going.

The diesel engine was made by Petter, I'm not sure of the type but it's a 4.5hp single cylinder four stroke, non-turbo design with overhead cams, forced-air cooling and mechanical governor set to 3000rpm.

The alternator/generator side I think might have actually been made by Petter also, I can't tell. It has a 240v side and a 110v side, selected by a toggle switch. Both will be 50hz AC.

I don't know the maximum electrical load it will deliver, but from a 4.5hp engine it could be reasonably expected to put out about 2.5kw or thereabouts.

At some point I'll do it up.
