This week we planted the troughs at the front of the cottage, using plants we overwintered. We pruned the lilac tree, and the lower shoots on the grapevines. We tied in the new blackberry canes for next years fruit, these are floricanes. We topped dressed the sweet peppers with a mix of chalk and compost, to help stop the flower drop. We snipped of the tops of the broad beans to control black fly.
