Playing with TURNER ACRYL acrylic gouache

I've been having fun playing with my Turner Acryl acrylic gouache lately, and this time I decided to color one of my friends' illustrations. She draws those cute scenes with her cat in them and she really liked the latest one and was wondering if she should add color to it. To encourage her to have more fun and go for it, I traced the illustration she sent to me via email and decided to surprise her with a color version of it on a card for her birthday.
I thought my acrylic gouache would be perfect for the job as they are nice and opaque and I can add as many layers as I want, and in no particular order (dark to light or light to dark).
I had a blast, except for the part where I realized that I didn't use the right kind of paper. I should have used watercolor or mixed media paper. But it took the gouache well enough. However, when I removed the washi tape, it tore the paper, and it made me sad.
